So Ashlyn made me these delicious scrambled eggs on Saturday which consisted of Mexican cheese, red bell peppers, onion, salt and pepper. She really did amaze herself because she didn't think she was going to make such a delicious breakfast. I was so proud of her that I took a picture of her masterpiece. She dabbed a side of ketchup so I can add it for flavor, but honestly there was no need at all for ketchup because it was delicious on its own.
To think I’m not even an egg person and I absolutely enjoyed them this time around. This morning I had to show my co-workers because I was craving them again for breakfast. Who knows, my Ashlyn might be the next Julia Child, lol….

Amazing Domestic Seafood Recipe Cook Off
Ashlyn is a big seafood fan. Because of that I usually like to cook what’s called “Camarones al Ajillo”. It’s a very simple dish to make. By simply sautéing extra garlic cloves with olive oil, freshly squeezed lime juice. Of course seasoning with a bit of salt, fresh ground pepper and parsley is a must! It's a pretty excellent dish with rice, noodles, salad, veggies or just about anything you would like to compliment it with.
This recipe takes no less than 10 minutes which is helpful for mothers like me who want to make the kids something healthy and quick especially for those after school days.
I’m always up for new ideas of course and by all means if you have any suggestions and recipes, please do not hesitate to share them. I have to say, my dish is made almost everywhere in the Caribbean and it’s a very popular dish for the Latin population and it’s time everyone enjoys it too. This dish would definitely be a great contender at the Great American Seafood Cook off which is one of America’s most prestigious culinary competitions.

Nail Salon Bacteria Infection
My mom caught a bad bacteria infection on her leg. We had to take her to the emergency room and after a diagnostic ultrasound the doctor diagnosed her with a severe bacteria infection. He asked us if she hit herself with something or if something bit or cut her in the last couple of days. It didn’t dawn on me until just only two days before she began all these crazy symptoms that I had taken her to the nail salon.
It really scares me how you can actually get infected in these places. Aren’t these places practicing routine disinfecting and sterilization? I seriously think they don’t because how the hell did this happen? She did nothing else but the pedicure and manicure so I’m 99% sure it was from this nail facility. I’m pretty disgusted in this whole ordeal. I spent 3 days and 2 nights at the hospital with my mom and the poor thing was in bad shape. The pain, swelling, burning pain was unbearable that not even pain killers were helping her.
What places can you trust these days? I really feel like calling the Attorney General’s office and letting them know about this matter. Even though I don’t have any proof that she indeed caught it from the nail place but what are the odds that she didn’t?
I mean we go to these places to improve our self image and feel better about ourselves and to stay healthy not to catch bacteria or other similar infections. God forbid if my mom had cached something worse like a disease or something. My God, I don’t know what I would have done!
Where have all the COWBOYS gone?
Can we discuss the men in our lives these days???? I swear back then I remember the men in the household working two or three jobs to make ends meet! Nowadays it’s the women who are making these damn sacrifices to survive in this expensive world we’re living in.
Every time I talk to other woman and or my coworkers it almost seems like we’re all in the same boat. These men aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be doing. In fact some of them are working part time jobs or who the heck knows. I know Fern does a lot for the home, but he could pick up the slack we’re struggling on and improve it.
When I say slack, the slack is basically all the bills from a couple of years that have been growing and growing from interests. The slack is the fact that I owe three months of rent! The slack is the fact that we can’t take a vacation because all the money goes on food and whatever else that needs to be purchased for daily living. I mean other wise we wouldn’t eat would we?
I’m very irritated and I feel as though I should pick up that second job and help make ends meet. Another part of me feels as though why should I? What happened to those men who used to work day and night to help raise their family?????????? Like the song said; "Where have all the cowbows gone?"
Loves Junk Food
My honey bunny went shopping yesterday and he bought all sorts of junk food for the house. There’s no questioning him when he shops or else he’ll never shop again. That’s his attitude all the time. I get all worked up because I really don’t want Twinkies and Ice Cream around the house all the time.
I’m very weak and yes I will admit to it. It’s very hard to know the treats are there and just go about without wanting them. It’s already bad enough that on Sunday I had three Ice Cream cones with Oreo Ice Cream. Oh my god it was to die for. I couldn’t stop on my first cone and neither could I do so on my second. The third just satisfied me completely.
I think I can go a whole month without craving Ice Cream unless he brings something yummy on his next trip to the supermarket. All I want to say to him is “KNOCK IT OFF”!!!
Anxiety in the WORKPLACE
It seems as though my coworkers and I are sharing the same anxiety symptoms these days. Some say it’s genetics, but sometimes I feel as though if someone’s having anxiety around me it some how rubs off. Is this even a possibility? Because I tell you right now, Rachel, Ali and I have been having anxiety for the past couple of days. We’re jumpy and uneasy and it just doesn’t feel right.
Could it be the same as they say with menstrual cycles happening around the same days as the woman you’re surrounded by? Are we sharing the same with these hormonal anxious episodes? I really have to find myself a good book where I can find information about this because there has to be something that can help us ease this feeling we’re experiencing. Not only that, we need to know how to surpass it when it occurs.
I tell you; being a woman is tough! I know we can all agree on that!
My Juicy Couture TOTE
I bought this Juicy Couture handbag and at first I thought it was too small since I’m used to big bags. It is indeed small, but it does hold up allot of junk which is basically what I carry on a daily basis, lol.
Everyone loves my little bag and I have to admit falling in love with it as well. It’s small and practical. You can use it casually; dressy and even sporty like to go to the pool or beach. I love my bag and I’m psyched I got it!
Homemade Breakfast
I told my fiancé I want him to treat me to breakfast in bed one of these days. I want to be treated to either French toast or maybe something fancier and tastier. I told him it needs to be homemade and not store bought because I want him to put all effort into the making.
Is this too much to ask for? I mean we’ve been together for 8 years now and I don’t think I’m asking for the world here, hello it’s just breakfast and to boot I want it homemade not restaurant style or anything like that. I’m tired of going out and wasting money and not being happy with what I order. We’ve spent so much money for aggravation and non satisfaction! I truly have to say this year I’ve only had one good meal and that was at a restaurant that I’m not too fond of. Imagine that! It’s unbelievable how things work out huh?
Anyways, I want something nice and he better start making plans on what he’s going to make me. I know in return I’ll make him something nice as well. I know he enjoys burgers and I can definitely make those handmade and fresh for him.
Ali needs MONETIZING Suggestions!
My buddy Ali has been doing incredible with her blog. Although I would wish she could be making more money from it. Rachel, Ali and I try to keep ourselves encouraged and motivated to keep working on our blogs. It does get quite frustrating when you can’t seem to get opportunities to monetize these blogs and get the number of viewers up.
Aside of encouragement and motivation we really need suggestions from those big time bloggers who are making the big digits a year so we can start sharing ideas! I really wish there was an easier system and hopefully we can all share it amongst each other!
So there you go my friends, please give my girl Ali some love and click on that girl’s Google ads! She will be tremendously grateful!
Whoaaaa SKIRTS FOR ME!
I’ve been complimented today a few times on my attire and it feels nice to be noticed. I’m not a real fan of skirts, but I decided that the summer is extremely hot and I really didn’t want to struggle in the heat so I bought myself a couple of skirts for the office.
When I say a couple, that’s exactly how many I got. I got a black and a white to last me the whole summer. In reality I didn’t think I would really use them. I have to admit I do like them, they are so much comfortable and they’re quite nice to use on these hot humid summer days. They keep you from sweating so much like pants tend to do. I also bought myself a summer dress so I can use to go to the pool and the beach, but of course I wouldn’t use that to work. Although I have seen great ways to use summer dresses by combining them with nice shoes and other appropriate gear!
Cinnamon Dolce Latte
So I have been craving Starbucks for a couple of weeks now. I usually do Starbucks more in the wintertime and I usually go to Dunkin Donuts in the summertime. This is my little routine only because I prefer Dunkin’s Iced Lattes in the summer and I absolutely love the Cinnamon Dolce Latte in the winter days.
Well how bout it, today I am craving something frothy and warm for some odd reason. So maybe I’ll stop by there tonight and grab myself a Cinnamon Dolce Latte since they’re my absolute favorite and I might throw one of their delicious pastries to go along with my drink.
Loving Sushi
Ashlyn got me hooked on Sushi, but not the kind that has the raw fish. I like the ones with the rice and veggies, they’re very delicious.
The other day, Ashlyn and I went to the supermarket and she asked me to get her a couple of pre-made Sushi dishes which indeed looked appetizing. When we got home she let me try it out and I was shocked since I didn’t think they were going to be that good. It was to the point where she had to tell me it was her meal and to please let her have some, lol!
I got to say, I am in love with these rice and veggie treats. I found this picture online which I had to share with you. It’s amazing what people can do with food these days.
I have to say, we teach our kids new things to try out on a daily basis, but it’s certainly cute when the tables turn and they amaze us by sharing the things they love with us.
Candies, Cupcakes, Chocolates... Ughhh
Everyone has been bringing cakes, cupcakes, and chocolates. I tell you its so distracting seeing all these yummy goodies floating around the whole office. I got to admit I can’t resist temptation all the time and it’s so hard.
I been battling trying to lose a few pounds and there’s always something that gets in my way. I’m so irate right now because I stepped on the scale and I didn’t lose any weight and I didn’t gain. The good thing is that there was no weight gain, but the downfall is that a whole month passed and not a pound was shed!
Can you all keep your junk food at home people! Marcia brought some wheat bagels and I had a ½ of bagel for lunch with some cheese. Here I am thinking I’m doing so well and then I mess up with a few chocolate candies.
Uggh, I’m so annoyed right now, but I won’t even stress my life over it. I have to be stronger and if I can’t then I can’t beat myself up!
OH SO DELICIOUS FLAN
When it comes to eating I have to say my family wins the golden medal. They all absolutely have to have dessert after their meals or maybe something somewhat sweet that will be classified as a dessert, lol.
Yessie’s absolute favorite is the flan which is custard that most Hispanics know how to make. I have to say that not everyone knows how to make a delicious flan. Some people make it too watery or too sour due to the browning of the sugar to make the syrup so basically you really have to be a pro at making flan to get a high five from me!
Whether its cheese cake, ice cream, flan or any type of sweets my family are by far the greatest critics because they love their desserts to be just right!
Mofongo con Camarones
Mofongo con Camarones. This is exactly what my girls enjoy eating every time we visit the Cuban restaurant down the street from our house.
It’s basically made out of plantains and some even include pork rinds. It’s basically up to you, I mean you can make it to your likes and put whatever your heart pleases.
I do enjoy the Mofongo with the sauce, but I developed a somewhat disgust to shrimp these days and I don’t think I’ll ever eat them again. I mean I really wasn’t a fan of them anyways. I would probably eat a little nibble of one, but really never enjoyed seafood ever. My girls are the absolute opposite of me though. They devour shrimp any style!
Of course everyone makes Mofongo in variety of styles so I decided to give you a recipe I found online which is a bit different from most.
MOFONGO DE CAMARONES RECIPE
PLANTAIN DUMPLINGS STUFFED W/ SHRIMP STUFFING
2 tb extra virgin olive oil
3 lg garlic clove; peeled and
-crushed
1/4 lb smoked ham; diced
1/4 c scallion; sliced
1/4 c cilantro; roughly chopped
1/2 c olives, small; pitted
1/2 ea lime; juiced
1 c tomato puree
1 c tomato sauce
2 lb shrimp; peeled and deveined,
- and
Mofonogo
3 lg plantain; green or 6 medium
1/4 c corn oil
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add the remaining stuffing
ingredients, except the shrimp, and sauté over medium heat for 5 min.
Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink. Set aside.
Peel the plantains and cut them into 1/2" slices. Heat the corn oil in a
large skillet and fry the plantain slices until golden. Drain on paper
towels.
Mash 5-6 slices in a mortar with a little of the stuffing liquid. Fold
in 1/2 cup of the shrimp mixture and shape into a ball with your hands.
Repeat the process 5 more times.
Furry Friends
There are many sweet and caring people out there especially those who care for animals in need. I for one like to visit the nearest animal shelter because sometimes just a little quality time with them can make such a difference.
I have to admit that at many times I wish I can walk off with all of them, but the fact that I care and occasionally bring them a little something means allot. I mean an occasional unused blanket or some Clorox bleach so they can sterilize their cages those help the shelter tremendously. Things do not need to be brand new for you to donate them. My mom actually has a bag full of sheets and old towels which will be perfect to keep our furry friends comfortable and warm.
I was surfing the web and found an incredible site I would like to share with you guys. It brought tears to my eyes to learn that this one little kitten that almost had no chance in life was given a second chance thanks to this amazing woman who took her in and gave her the life she now has.

Lunch is great, but I need the treadmill!
I’m at lunch right now and guess what I’m eating? I’m eating popcorn, rice and beans with steak tips for lunch. The popcorn I guess was my appetizer, lol and the rest was leftovers from the dinner my honey made last night.
I’m going to try and eat just a little bit because seriously if I keep this up I’ll gain the little weight I’ve lost and seriously it wasn’t much.
After work I need to hop on the treadmill and burn some serious calories!

I actually bought a prepaid phone card to call Melissa in Mexico. She’s been in Mexico since Sunday and I figured surprising her by calling to find out how much fun her and Ashley are having.
I got to tell you these calling cards are great because you pay them right then and there and there’s no need to ring up your home bill by calling overseas.
You can get a prepaid phone card to call absolutely anywhere international ranging from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. You can basically just search for the best phone cards to call from the United States to anywhere in the world without breaking the bank.
What I like is the fact that these are large companies like AT&T, sprint and many more that are absolutely reliable and you get your moneys worth!
I want to tell you that my girls absolutely love these cards because they can keep in touch with their family in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and my phone bill will never be ridiculous. I usually get them a calling card each every month and it’s paid for and I don’t have to worry about it again until the following month.
Moist and Delicious
Rose brought me some cake and it was delicious. She baked it herself. No long ago she made meatballs and they were so yummy I almost took more from her plate!
What I loved about the cake was that it wasn’t over sweet and it was so moist you didn’t even care for milk or anything. I do wish she had put more frosting since that is my absolute favorite part of cake.
I can’t believe she has energy for baking being pregnant and having to care for Connor and he’s a busy toddler. I am grateful that she still manages to do so because otherwise I wouldn’t get the treats!
ALLERGY SEASON!
I guess this year’s pollen allergies are starting very early. It’s been announced that pollen this year is going to be stronger than ever. It’s amazing because we were still having some winter days and all of a sudden we jumped to summer. These past few days have been in the high 70’s and felt somewhat like in the mid 80’s, but with all that pollen in the air it does get quite miserable.
I already pulled out my inhaler a few times and I’m already running low so I have to get to my primary doctor’s office soon so I can get some prescription allergy medication and a refill on my albuterol.
Needless to say, whether its 0 degrees and winter or 90 degrees and summer, you can’t ever win because there’s always something that will make you sick. Of course I don’t mind the great weather regardless of my allergies!
Special K Diet Vs Chinese noodles
I have been doing the Kellog’s Special K with Berries diet. I have to say I’ve lasted longer than I would’ve trusted myself to, but of course I always have my crazy obstacles that kind of throw me off my road of success.
Those obstacles being; my friends and of course family and social events that happen in between. I kind of drifted off the diet for a couple of days and began another fresh week this week. Then this morning Rachel decides to order Chinese food and guess what?!
I ordered Angel hair with Crab Ragoons. It was so delicious and to tell you the truth I didn’t eat the whole thing. I mean they give you a whole bunch almost to serve five or six people so I am happy to say that I did save some for later or maybe tomorrow. I could’ve said no, but I didn’t. What’s done is done right?! Now I wish I had big cup of coffee to wake me up from those hidden MSG they pretend not to use.
I noticed on this picture I got at Google that you can crush the cereal and put it as a yummy topping for your Ice Cream. It's really good you really should try it. It's great too because it's not a fattening toppings like jimmies or gummies and all those fun not so good toppings we're used to.

How about the Mojito alchoholic drink?! Have any of you tried this incredibly delicious drink? I mean it is so good that you can have just about 4-5 of them and not realize it. I love the spearmint flavor it just gives you this refreshing feeling while you’re sipping on it.
It’s definitely a great drink for those hot summer days, but do be careful because after all it is an alcoholic beverage. I don’t want you passing out somewhere, hahahah.
Anyways, try it because I know you will absolutely love it! It’s almost like having an iced tea with alcohol in it, but please do not compare it to the Long Island iced tea, this one is so much better.

Bacardi Mojito (say 'mohito,' and enjoy!)
An easy mojito recipe to liven up your evening:1.5 oz BACARDI Rum12 fresh spearmint leaves1/2 lime7 oz club soda2 tbsp. simple syrup(or 4 tsp. sugar)
Pizzelle Italian Cookie
I think I ate almost two packs of Pizzelle cookies. I got myself the Anise flavored ones and they are just so yummy. I had like one pack in the morning and promised I wouldn’t have anymore, but come the afternoon I couldn’t resist the temptation and opened up a new pack.
Of course there’s nothing like fresh homemade ones. My friend Melissa makes them at home and of course those are 100% better. I mean anything you make at home makes such a difference.
I went online and found the recipe to the Pizzelle which of course Melissa has already since she does these every now and then especially on holidays and family events.
For Pizzelle fans:
Pizzelle Italian Cookie1 3/4 cup flour3/4 cup sugaar1/2 cup canola oil3 eggs1/2 oz of vanilla, lemon, anise or orange extractMix eggs thoroughly. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls on the iron and close top. Cook approximately 1-3 minutes until golden brown. May add powdered sugar at the end if desired.
I need a Day at the Spa
I haven’t had a Pedicure or Manicure in a while now and I could really feel it on my feet. I seriously have to go hopefully this weekend and have this taken care of. I really have never gone more than 2 months without taking care of these things, but I guess it’s the cold weather which doesn’t motivate me much.
Tomorrow the girls have Dental appointments and after that I drop off Yessie at her job in Newton so I’m thinking of taking care of manners. I might even indulge in a massage or something. These days the way work is going, I truly need a day at the Spa.
How long do people really go off on having both a Pedicure and a Manicure because I seriously think I’ve really neglected myself? How do people do it in the winter days? I feel as though it’s my hibernation period and this is why things got out of hand.
Three Iced Lattes in One DAY!
Today I spent the day waiting for my uncle’s cat that was at the Vet getting a small procedure done. Could you believe that I had three Iced Lattes while waiting?! I couldn’t believe it myself, but I did when I began feeling somewhat hyper in the middle of the day.
We took Oreo, my uncle’s cat to an animal clinic over in Billerica and I’m very happy with the outcome. He did incredibly well and he’s home now recovering from anesthesia. I hope he heals quick and efficiently.
Anyways, I liked Billerica allot, can you believe they have a Market Basket in every corner?! I mean friends, every corner we ran into there was a Market Basket. I guess people really love to go food shopping out there. We even stopped at one and did a little shopping while we waited.
Did I just enjoy Strawberries?
I’m not really a fan of Strawberries, but let me just explain that the Strawberries I just had this afternoon were incredible! These things were so sweet and juicy words cannot express.
Anyways, I been trying to be really good, but there’s always those folks who try and persuade you to eat junk. Those are my fellow co-workers who are always sneaking around candy and flashing it in your face.
I must say, I do bring tons of candy to have available at my desk for my patients, but I hardly dig my hands into the bowl. I usually try and grab the stuff I hardly would go for this way I won’t be tempted. I have to say it’s definitely a great idea because I have stuff for my patients, but I won’t fall into the temptation.
I do have to get myself to go on the treadmill tonight because seriously. All the hard work you do in a week and it only takes a few candies to ruin it all.
So now even though I had those amazing Strawberries and felt as though I was doing so great, I feel as though I failed myself after eating the chocolate Bunny Rabbit which was left over from Easter candy!
Ropa Vieja
Yessie just called me and she’s trying to make white rice and some ropa vieja. For those of you who aren’t sure what ropa vieja is, it basically stands for two things. Old clothes and it also stands for the name of this very delicious Spanish style shredded beef in seasoned sauce which is one of my kid’s favorite dishes.
So Yessie decided to make dinner today and that’s what’s she’s making tonight.
I guess I really can’t complain. I mean for her to come out of the blue wanting to make something for the whole family is such a nice gesture of hers.
For those who have never tried Spanish food and love beef, you definitely should try the fancy dish of “Ropa Vieja". I know you will absolutely love it!
Where's the Easter Candy?!!
I just finished getting off the phone with Ashlyn’s school. Can you believe that the order of Easter candies hasn’t gotten in yet?! It’s so annoying that they haven’t even bothered to call me and let me know the status. Meanwhile here at work I have all my co-workers and even family members inquiring about their candies which some of them wanted them for Easter baskets. Not much they can do now right?!
Anyways, I left a couple of messages today and hopefully I’ll get an answered or else just hand me back the money so I can reimburse everyone. I mean that’s the least they could do if the candy isn’t in yet. Besides everyone lost their interest already.
Avril Lavigne Concert- April Fools?
April 1st I’m taking my sister and my girls to see Avril Lavigne in concert and NO it’s not an April fool’s joke! I am excited to see Avril as I do think she’s the cutest thing ever.
I got my sister Annie the tickets for her birthday which was a month ago Tuesday, March 1st. I heard the Jonas brothers are opening up for Avril which will be a nice treat since I have been hearing all this commotion about those brothers and I don’t think I’ve listened to their music just yet. Of course if I did listen to it I have no clue that they were.
So the concert is at seven in the evening so I’m hoping we get back early since it’s a school night. Not that the kids ever go by a scheduled sleep hour they usually just go to bed at whatever time they feel like it. I usually try to have them go at a reasonable time, but it just doesn’t work. Hey as long as I can sleep when I want to, I really leave it up to them to decide when they’re tired and when they’re not.
Best of both Worlds
I bought a new pair of Coach Sunglasses and I took a picture for my friend Melissa to look at since she wanted to see it right away. Ok so I took this picture right and then noticed that in the background there’s a can of Goya tomato sauce. I tell you I almost passed out laughing. Coach and Goya isn’t that a pair huh?!
I tell you being Latin there are plenty of delights because you do get the best of both worlds. I get to eat my Goya while wearing my trendy Coach Sunglasses. I can also go celebrate Christmas while Celebrating the Three Kings on January 6th.
You really don’t pay close attention, but it’s so true. Like my girls for instance, they are half Puerto Rican and half Dominican. Puerto Ricans celebrate mother’s and father’s day on the same day as the United States. On the other hand Dominicans celebrate it the last Sunday of the month. Meaning the kids get to do all these celebrations and they still complain that they don’t do much.
At around Christmas time their dad’s side of the family celebrates Christmas Eve like we celebrate Christmas day so it’s quite easy to have the girls go to his house the night before and then spend the whole Christmas day with my family. Then at the beginning of the year there’s another little celebration in tailed. Not a huge one, but usually just a nice dinner at my mom’s or maybe just a nice fancy dessert, but whatever the case may be, we still get the best of both worlds.
Melissa is a Gourmet Chef
Melissa is such an excellent cook. She could basically make anything out of scratch I tell you. She’s always fresh baked bread, cakes, cookies and basically just about anything you can think of.
Thanks to Melissa I learned how to make the candy apples I was so good at making. I ended up making them so gourmet I did a school fundraiser and made 200 apples of a variety of flavors. I made my own caramel and the chocolate was delicious that people have requested that I do more, but it is a bit time consuming and of course hard work especially when you have to melt the chocolates and the colored candies.
I might just do something for Halloween of this year. The ones I did for Halloween last year were so cute. I decorated them with all Halloween colors and the plastic bags were the cutest things ever. You almost didn’t want to uncover them.
Melissa made this awesome rice with glazed chicken and Broccoli for Ashley and I was so upset because she didn’t bring me any!
Oh my Toblerone Chocolate..
My BFF Marcia just got me a treat this morning. A bar of Toblerone chocolate which I’ve never tried in my 33 years until this morning. This chocolate is so delicious that I stopped at the store this afternoon to buy a couple for the girls and another one for me.
It’s insane all the calories I’ve had today, but if you’re a woman you know how it feels especially when you’re on period days. You can eat all the chocolate in the world and not get sick of it.
So I bought three bars at the store this afternoon and I just finished eating another bar. I can’t even begin to add the calories in fat I just had, but who cares I needed the chocolate fix and now I feel so much more relaxed and at peace with life and all the wonders of it.
Ha ha, I think that’s all the chocolate talking…
Dresses for Ashlyn
I was just online searching for a dress for Ashlyn’s 15th birthday. It’s quite hard being that you want the best dress for the occasion, I mean you only have one Quinceanero in your life and you want everything to be the best as possible.
I know Ashlyn has some colors in mind and I have others, but together we can definitely come up to a middle point because overall they’re very nice colors. I do want to have a huge ice sculpture centerpiece and I’m hoping something different like a tiara or scepter or anything that resembles the occasion.
I won’t reveal too much of the festivities because I do want to surprise our guests and if I reveal it here, trust me they will peek and learn all the facts.
Interracial Love...
Talk about interracial relationships. Rachel is half Chinese and half Black because her mom who happens to be Chinese married her husband of many years who is Black and there you got it a little cute mixed interracially Rachel we got.
My sister is doing the same thing. We’re 100% Puerto Rican, but born in the States. My sister is now dating an African guy who is such a nice person. I say go for it to my sister because I would love to see what her baby would look like. I mean friends, my sister is so white she could be Casper the friendly ghost and Abdul is so black you can see blue highlights on his skin. I mean I’m not being racist or anything. I absolutely love Abdul, but yeah they make such a cute little couple I tell you that if they do indeed have a baby together it would be beautiful.
I’m all for interracial relationships because truly love is love and no matter where you came from or who you are, you’re entitled to be happy.
Just thinking..
I was visiting my friend who just had the Gastric Bypass surgery. How scary would it be to make such an amazingly life threatening and changing decision. If you’d ask me if I would sign up for it, I probably would say no. Of course not knowing what reasons people have to make these options in life makes it quite difficult to understand, but I do respect it. I hope the bouquet of flowers I sent her cheered her up because I do know she's in some excruciating pain.
Ok let me change the subject to something a little bit more pleasant. I just realized that my first born will be 19 this coming September and my baby girl will be 15 in December. I’ve already begun the preparations for her Sweet 15, Quinceanero in Spanish. Of course I’m thinking of postponing it closer to the following spring because of the weather. I mean who wants to be running around in fancy gowns in the middle of a winter storm because with our luck that’s exactly what will happen.
I have to be thankful though because the day of Yessie’s Quinceanero it was so beautiful the weather I couldn’t possibly be any grateful. I mean it wasn’t hot or chilly, the sun was out and there were clouds, but it wasn’t beaming in your face like sometimes the sun does. It was just simply a beautiful day! I just hope that Ashlyn’s will be just as beautiful…
Cute little Handbag
My sister likes cute stuff like me and she’s been eyeing this cute handbag which I haven’t been able to locate for the life of me. I just hope that I could find it so I can surprise her with it. I know if I make the effort and do find it, she would absolutely pass out.
I was looking in the infamous Ebay which is one of her favorite online stores, but with no success I signed off. Ebay is too darn busy and slow for me. I’m so used to fast and speedy and Ebay is none of that. Besides, I hate to place bids and the last time I placed an order with them I got charged like five times on my credit card and I got five stupid car chargers for a phone I don’t have anymore. Needless to say, I really dislike shopping at Ebay, but I tried for my little sister.
Tomorrow I’ll try again because right now I’m dead tired and I just want to go and indulge in a bubble bath and after that go to bed. We’ll see what I can find tomorrow….
Don't Drink and Drive.. Please...
Today I went out with Rachel and had a fruity sort of pineapple cocktail with her. It was so good it got me tipsy at like two sips. I had three of them and I was ready to call it a night. Thankfully my sister drove and she was the designated driver. As you all read before, I don’t drink and drive and I don’t promote people who do so. I think it’s ridiculous and people should learn from all the many mistakes others have done.
Some people feel as though it won’t happen to them, but trust me it could. The experience we went through with my parents is something I wouldn’t want anyone to go through. Of course many other people have gone through worse, I’m just really grateful my parents lived to tell us their store and I’m living mine to tell you not to drink and drive.
My NEW BFF
So my dear readers I found myself a new BFF named Marcia. I mean my dear co-worker who I’ve been seeing now for almost two years suddenly we became very close.
Marcia is a very special person. She’s fun, sweet, charismatic and just simply a simple and caring person. It’s really cool when you become close friends with the people you work with because you get to know so much about each other and sometimes find out you have so much in common. Like Rachel and me for instance, her and I have so much in common and the fact that she followed me from our previous job to our new one is a joy.
Yup Rachel is a great friend. We both go over and beyond for each other and I guess that’s what friends are about. So now at work I have my friend and office manager, Melissa and my other friend Rachel and now my new BFF Marcia. Is that not the best?!
Addicted to Tetris!
I’m addicted to Tetris!!! I’ve always heard the girls talking about how cool and how much fun Tetris is, but I’ve never really brought myself to play it until just recently that I downloaded the game to my cell phone. Let me tell you I’ve become a big Tetris freak! I’ve been so addicted to that gave I take it to the potty to keep me entertained, ahaha.
I guess that’s definitely what you call an addiction, but hey as long as it’s not a bad one right?! I downloaded all these games to my cell phone and right now that’s by far my favorite. I’m also a big fan of Scrabble, but I haven’t found that on Verizon games. I swear if I do, I’ll be playing those two games back to back. I used to love Pac Man, but nowadays after downloading it, I noticed that the keys are way too small for me to keep up a good game so I haven’t really played it much. I do have to say, thank God for car chargers because my battery dies immediately!
Pink Eye
I think my Ashlyn has pink eye because she keeps rubbing her eyes and their red and goopy. I mean it’s a Friday night and I refuse to go to the emergency room just because of an eye. I think I’ll wait it out or just go to the pharmacy and get some over the counter remedy. I know I shouldn’t wait too long since it is indeed very contagious.
I hope none of us catch it until I can bring her in on Monday morning to the pediatrician. I already told her not to rub her eyes and if she does to wash and sterilize her hand so that she doesn’t leave her little germs floating around the house because the last thing I need is for all of us to get infected and then I’m in big trouble.
Ok, I’m on my way to CVS to get something to help ease her discomfort, kids I tell you there’s always something!
ahhhh The Sweet Life...
The sweet life I’m having these days begins right at the crack of dawn by sipping on my Cinnamon Dolce Latte and reading my People Magazine. I have been shopping a whole lot lately on important things of course. Some maybe not so important like handbags, but hey a girl’s got to live right?!
I’ve downloaded allot of songs and games to my cell phone and my bill was over $300 this month! I mean talk about a heart attack; I nearly choked on my sandwich. Anyways, I figure these days that you only live once and you have to splurge in life.
I decided to share this little blog with Yessie and she’s been doing awesome I have to say. She’s been putting her two cents here and there, but of course with her school and after school activities it does get quite overwhelming. I guess it gives me time to add my share of the sweet life.
Snow Strom 12pm
Being a student you look forward to spring, summer and winter vacations so I can sleep. Tonight I was watching the news and we’re expecting this huge snow storm which is kind of exciting to me and the kids in my school. Looking forward to that last minute school closing due to weather is quite exciting.
I need to catch up on my term papers and essays for my humanities class. My computer completely shut down on me and I was going crazy so I called my teacher to tell her if I could get an extra day to work on it, but she tells me that there’s no school tomorrow so I was so thankful!
Sometimes these snow storms do some justice and now I can enjoy a day off and work more relaxed on my papers.
Cleaning on Saturdays
Well just about a week ago my mother, YESASH a.k.a AlmaVega.com and my stepfather, Fern have been complaining that the house is really messy. Every Saturday my sister and I are supposed go by a list that my mom puts together telling us which shores my sis and I are responsible for.
One thing I do like about cleaning is that my parents leave so my sister and I have the house to ourselves. I begin by blasting the music so loud and we dance around while we clean and actually have fun while cleaning the whole messy house.
I sometimes don’t like waking up on Saturdays, but I have to clean or else, but I have to do it so I could be able to go out later on. I know there’s allot of teenagers out there that have to clean, but it truly sucks. It is on the other hand fun when we clean with music and you have someone to do it with.
Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnant at 16. Who cares!
PREGNANT Jamie Lynn Spears has been dumped by boyfriend Casey Aldridge because he doubts he is the father. Wow how could he say that after so many months of being with her and finding how she’s carrying his baby?!
Back over here where I live, we have 14, 15, 16, and even 17 year olds having babies. Do you see the press coming over here talking about these teens? But when one superstar that’s young gets PREGNANT they make a big deal about it. Leave the poor girl alone, she's a human being!
Life....
I’m living my life one step at a time. I grew up being taught right from wrong by my parents. I have of course made mistakes, I mean after all I’m only human, but it will definitely definite who I’ll be in the future.
Life is interesting, I tell you that right now and I’m eager to learn more and keep learning. My mom is a great inspiration and I know I definitely want to be just like her when I grow up.
